Tina Turner

Tina Turner (born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939) is an eight-time Grammy Award-winning, rock, R&B, soul, and popsinger, songwriter, dancer, and actress. Born in Nutbush, Tennessee. At age 16, she moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and became well known for her high energy performances with The Ike & Tina Turner Revue during the 1960s and 1970s. At the height of The Revue's success, Tina Turner developed a reputation as a consummate live entertainer. Although well-known and respected as a performer before she separated from Ike Turner, it was her comeback in the mid-1980s that propelled her to solo international superstardom thereby becoming one of the most popular artists of the 1980s and most successful female rock-artist of all time (she has sold more concert tickets than any other female performer in history). With combined album and single sales exceeding 150 million since her music debut in 1960, Tina Turner is one of the top-selling solo acts in music history. Throughout her career, Tina Turner has garnered numerous awards and honors including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1986 and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. In addition, she is a member of the St. Louis Walk of Fame. winner of eight Grammy Awards in four different stylistic categories, and a Kennedy Center Honoree. VH1 ranked Tina at #2 on their list of The Greatest Women in Rock (coming in second to Aretha Franklin). Rolling Stone Magazine has also ranked her #61 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Tina Turner's popularity and success in rock and roll throughout the 1980s and 1990s garnered her the title, "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll". Tina Turner is noted for her overpowering stage presence. Her physical trademarks are her long, well-proportioned legs, big hair, and raspy voice.Tina's long-term partner is German Erwin Bach, a record executive. They live together in Küsnacht, Zürich, Switzerland, and Nice, France. I think she remains one of the most sexiest woman alive. Oh, and you may want to make note that "What's Love Got To Do With It" became my "theme song" during the late 80's. I guess I still feel the same way, come to think of it.
